Lindsay met her husband, Syman, while abroad and the two had a whirlwind romance. The two married and Syman, originally from Aᴜstʀᴀʟɪᴀ, moved to the Uɴɪtᴇᴅ Stᴀtᴇs with Lindsay so they could start their life together. In no time, the happy couple had their first child — a son named Carson. Lindsay and Syman both wanted a big family so they started trying for more kids.
Before this mom would give birth to quadruplets, she would endure a difficult journey. In their quest to have another baby, Lindsay ended up suffering 5 miscarriages. She says: “You carry the ᴘᴀɪɴ ᴏғ ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇ with you wherever you go . And even after being on the other side with my rainbow babies here, it stɪʟʟ ʜᴜʀts. I don’t think I’ll ever fully heal. It definitely made me stronger, though , and gave me new perspective and appreciation for just how big of a miracle these babies and all babies really are.”
Syman and Lindsay Hay enlisted the help of doctors and ғᴇʀtɪʟɪtʏ sᴘᴇᴄɪᴀʟɪsts. Still, it got to the point where Lindsay felt like she’d never hold a newborn baby in her arms again. But then, Gᴏᴅ sent a miracle… well, 4 miracles! When Lindsay found out she was ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴt ᴡɪtʜ ǫᴜᴀᴅʀᴜᴘʟᴇts, she couldn’t believe it. And she stʀᴜɢɢʟᴇᴅ tᴏ sʜᴀᴋᴇ tʜᴇ ɪᴍᴘᴀᴄt ᴏꜰ ʜᴇʀ 5 ᴘʀᴇᴠɪᴏᴜs ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇs. Lindsay Hay recalls: “I honestly didn’t think the Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏwould progress and prepared myself for miscarriage. There was just a lot of uncertainty, ꜰᴇᴀʀ, ᴀɴᴅ sᴜʀᴘʀɪsᴇ.” Adding to the stʀᴇss, Lindsay’s doctors wanted her to consider tᴇʀᴍɪɴᴀtɪɴɢ some of her miracle babies. Because of Lindsay’s small build, they felt this mom ɢɪᴠɪɴɢ ʙɪʀtʜ tᴏ ǫᴜᴀᴅʀᴜᴘʟᴇts ᴘᴜt ʜᴇʀ ᴀt tᴏᴏ ɢʀᴇᴀt ᴏꜰ ᴀ ʀɪsᴋ. She said: “It was very somber in that ᴜʟtʀᴀsᴏᴜɴᴅ ʀᴏᴏᴍ, I’m 5-foot-2 and was about 115 pounds at the time and they said my ʙᴏᴅʏ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’t ʙᴇ ᴀʙʟᴇ tᴏ ʜᴀɴᴅʟᴇ ɪt. They were very adamant about it being ᴜɴsᴀꜰᴇ.” But there was no way Lindsay Hay was going to ɢɪᴠᴇ ᴜᴘ on her 4 miracles!
The Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏcertainly ᴡᴀsɴ’t ᴇᴀsʏ. The ɴᴀᴜsᴇᴀ ᴀɴᴅ ꜰᴀtɪɢᴜᴇ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ɪɴtᴇɴsᴇ. And as the doctors sᴜsᴘᴇᴄtᴇᴅ, carrying such a ʟᴀʀɢᴇ ʙᴇʟʟʏ ᴡᴀs ʜᴀʀᴅ on Lindsay’s small body. While sharing images of her baby bump at 23 weeks, Lindsay shared that she had gained 35lbs and admitted that she was stʀᴜɢɢʟɪɴɢ ᴡɪtʜ ʜᴇʀ stʀᴇtᴄʜ ᴍᴀʀᴋs and the ʟᴏss of her ‘perfect’ stomach. However, she said that she was trying to embrace her feelings of ᴇxᴄɪtᴇᴍᴇɴt, after stʀᴜɢɢʟɪɴɢ ᴡɪtʜ ꜰᴇʀtɪʟɪtʏ.
She wrote: “Sᴘᴏɪʟᴇʀ ᴀʟᴇʀt: I have a stretch mark. While I know what my body is doing is incredible, I’m not ready for the sentimental comments just yet. I am having a ᴠᴀɪɴ ᴍᴏᴍᴇɴt ᴀɴᴅ ɢʀɪᴇᴠɪɴɢ my “perfect” stomach, ok? There was a time hubby and me wondered if I’d ever have a ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴt bump again though so I truly am grateful and embracing it, but sometimes it’s hard and I’m just keeping it real.” At 26 weeks, she then revealed that she had gained 49lbs during her ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ, explaining that she was the equivalent of ‘fifty weeks’ ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴt, while joking that her stomach was covered with ‘500 stʀᴇtᴄʜ ᴍᴀʀᴋs’.
After the quadruplets were born on July 23, Lindsay revealed that they had all ʙᴇᴇɴ ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀᴇᴅ ᴠɪᴀ C-sᴇᴄtɪᴏɴ, sharing on Instagram that the procedure ‘went perfectly’, before revealing that the ᴘʀᴇᴇᴍɪᴇ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs all weighed between 3 pounds and 1 ounce and 3 pounds and 12 ounces. She wrote: “The birth was seriously the most incredible experience of my life and I was on the biggest ᴀᴅʀᴇɴᴀʟɪɴᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ɪᴍᴀɢɪɴᴀʙʟᴇ. They all came out ᴋɪᴄᴋɪɴɢ ᴀɴᴅ sᴄʀᴇᴀᴍɪɴɢ ᴀɴᴅ ʙʀᴇᴀtʜɪɴɢ ᴏɴ tʜᴇɪʀ ᴏᴡɴ, ᴀɴᴅ tʜᴇɪʀ ᴄʀɪᴇs alone made it all worth it.”
While the babies had to be kept in the N.I.C.U in the months after their birth, Lindsay revealed that she and Syman were able to bring daughter Madison and Caiden home on September 7, while Lucas and Grayson joined them two days later. The mom said of giving birth to her quadruplets: “The day my doctor said it was time was probably the first time I truly believed they’d be mine. There’s really no comparing it to my sɪɴɢʟᴇtᴏɴ ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ. With Carson, I was blissfully unaware of all that could go ᴡʀᴏɴɢ and enjoyed every moment. But at last, here they were — 4 beautiful, healthy babies!”
Lindsay Hay carried her quadruplets “on the inside” for 30 weeks and 4 days. So, 30 weeks and 4 days after this mom ɢᴀᴠᴇ ʙɪʀtʜ to her quadruplets, she decided to post a before and after photo on social media. And the touching image, along with what Lindsay had to say, quickly went viral! Lindsay Hay explained: “Full hands, full heart is an understatement! They have surpassed every hope and dream I had envisioned during my Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴄʏ and even though time is passing quickly I know the best is yet to be. Behind these babies are new marks, rolls, and skin you can’t see but they also came with new strengths I didn”.
